200 SCM Free Relay WR Challenge
Thursday, December 11th, 2008Last week Ande told me that Erik Hochstein had been taunting him on a forum somewhere about how he was recruiting a team to break the world record we set in Tempe in the M160-199 200 SCM free relay. Ande inquired if the relay would be made up of people who all train together on the same team, or if it would be a “Super Team” of people from around the country who get together just to smash records (for the, erm… record, our relay members all train together at Longhorn Aquatics, frequently in the same lane). Eric replied that, no they weren’t just a bunch of mercenaries, they were trying it legit. Fair enough.
Well, the results show that in the final analysis there were an extra eight hundredths of a second … that we didn’t need. Good thing Ande didn’t cut his nails until after the meet!
